Ingredients
Method
- Coat steak strips with cornstarch in a ziptop bag and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon sesame oil in a saucepan. Add garlic and ginger, then stir in soy sauce, water, and brown sugar. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Cook steak in a skillet with remaining olive oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat until cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add broccoli to the skillet and pour in the sauce. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until broccoli is crisp-tender.
- If sauce is too thin, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water and add to skillet. Stir for 1 minute to thicken.
- Stir in green onions, sprinkle with red pepper flakes and sesame seeds if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For thicker sauce, prepare a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water) and add it toward the end of cooking time.
